For over 25 years, Leonardo’s subsidiary, Selex ES, Inc. has produced and installed equipment to ANSPs and Airport Operators around the world.  Selex ES Inc. is experienced in installation at new and expanded facilities and complex side-by-side installation at operational facilities to upgrade and replace legacy equipment while minimizing impact to operations and revenue generation.  

Leonardo’s U.S. subsidiary Selex ES Inc. has delivered equipment to over 110 countries and on every continent.  Selex ES Inc. navigational aids are designed to meet harsh environmental conditions encountered world wide from the Arctic circle to the Antarctic circle. Our equipment is designed for safety and compatibility and carries multiple certification.  All the equipment is CE marked meeting rigorous EU compatibility and safety requirements.  We can provide equipment qualified under FAA Part 197 for sales to non-federal facilities in the United States and the equipment is approved for use by CAAC.

FACTORY ACCEPTANCE TESTING

Factory Acceptance Testing of the Selex ES Inc. equipment occurs during a customer witnessed event at our Overland Park, Kansas, United States facility. We can also provide customized acceptance procedures to support local qualification procedures. Selex ES Inc. sales, manufacturing, quality, and engineering personnel are all available on-site to answer questions and support the FAT process to ensure successful acceptance of the equipment.

For installs with complex siting requirements, Selex ES Inc. dispatches system engineers with decades of successful experience getting difficult sites through commissioning and recurrent flight checks.

Training

Leonardo operates a fully equipped training academy for its Selex ES portfolio of Air Traffic Control solutions at its Overland Park, Kansas, United States facility Classrooms are equipped with modern training tools such as laptop computers and overhead projectors and a full suite of hot-mockup equipment.

Leonardo’s Selex ES training consists of a 50% hands-on and 50% theory-based training and provides all students with a training welcome package including a copy of equipment manuals, training slides, and training workbooks.

The Selex ES training is suitable for technicians which are new to navigational aids or for the experienced technician with decades of experience. Our comprehensive training program is built upon the philosophy that system-users must understand both over-all system operation, as well as troubleshooting techniques, familiarity with our drawing structure, schematics and test equipment in order to effectively and safely operate the equipment. The training is conducted on the entire system, including modules, components, operation and maintenance (O&M) of specialized test equipment, diagnostic test beds, ATE, test fixtures, and software operations.

In additional to training at Selex ES’s facilities, Selex ES can provide On-the-Job Training (OJT) and on-site training, minimizing end-user time out of office and travel expenses.

POST-SALES SUPPORT AND REPAIR

ANSPS & Airport Operators Page-Images-Text-FLeonardo’s Selex ES operates a dedicated customer support center with dedicated repair equipment and technicians at its Overland Park, Kansas, United States facility. We provide email, telephone, and 24-hour telephone support to assist field technicians in the diagnosis and correction of equipment operational issues. The Selex ES parts repair process averages a 15-day turn around time for critical LRUs. Optionally, Selex ES can provide 24- or 48-hour turn around on critical LRUs through our internal depot, minimizing disruption to air operations and revenue. Selex ES can provide demonstrated field reliability of system LRUs as part of an intelligent centralized depot management system that minimizes depot lay-in costs while maximizing system availability.
