Turning Mobile Devices into Automatic License Plate Readers

PlateTrace is a mobile license plate recognition (LPR) app that transforms a smartphone or tablet into a powerful LPR tool, enabling officers to capture and identify license plates using devices they already carry.

For agencies with an Enterprise Operations Center (EOC), PlateTrace securely connects captured plate data to the agency’s existing LPR ecosystem for centralized storage, search, and analysis. By expanding LPR access to more personnel and more locations, PlateTrace helps agencies increase situational awareness, improve operational efficiency, and maximize the value of their LPR investments. 

 

PlateTrace is available as a free download from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.

The free version supports basic plate capture, with data stored locally on the device. For agencies using an EOC, the PlateTrace Subscription enables authorized users to connect the app directly to the agency’s EOC, allowing captured data to be recorded and managed within the agency’s existing system.

PlateTrace is designed to help agencies extend LPR capabilities across more users and more locations without the need to deploy a dedicated camera in every scenario.
